Ursula Marvin
Ursula Marvin was fascinated by rocks from an early age, but she was especially interested in meteorites that had traveled through space before landing on Earth. She believed these unusual rocks could reveal important clues about the history of our solar system.
As a planetary geologist, Marvin studied meteorites collected from around the world, including Antarctica, where scientists have discovered thousands of space rocks. Her research helped explain how planets formed billions of years ago and gave scientists a better understanding of the early solar system.
In addition to her research, Marvin encouraged more women to pursue careers in science. She believed that asking questions and exploring the unknown were at the heart of every scientific discovery.
Ursula Marvin showed that even a single rock can tell an incredible story and that curiosity can lead to discoveries that deepen our understanding of the universe.
